# The Long Way to Dallas Parkway

La Stella Italian Steakhouse & Music Lounge · Addison

Wichita Falls, Texas. A thirteen-year-old from Southern Italy, there because his father - Italian Air Force - got posted to a NATO program at Sheppard. He stayed. Finished high school in Texas.

Giuseppe "JP" Piccinini took the long road. Engineering degree at Midwestern State. Eight years as an engineer. Real estate at 29. In 2011, a brokerage called JPAR, started at his kitchen table. It grew to 3,500 agents in 23 states. He sold it around 2021.

His words: "It was such an incredible journey starting JPAR from just me and a couple of agents from the kitchen table in my house to where it got, that I wanted to go on another journey."

The journey was his mother's recipes. La Stella Cucina Verace, March 2022, Dallas Arts District. A tribute to the family's Neapolitan heritage. Giovanna - Nonna - whose recipes anchor the kitchen. His father Emilio, procurement buyer and official taster. His wife Alexandra running events. One dining room. Best year yet in 2024. Weekends booked solid.

Then Lawry's The Prime Rib closed its Dallas Parkway building in early 2024. A planned Frisco expansion had fallen through. The family took the building instead. "Lawry's was at that location for damn near 40 years. We want to be a staple for central Dallas."

La Stella Italian Steakhouse and Music Lounge opened there Black Friday, November 28, 2025. An 1880 host stand. Sophia Loren on the walls. Nonna's wagyu meatballs on the menu - "unforgettable," one diner called them in January.

Live music nightly in the Sophia Lounge, 5:30 to midnight. Dinner at your table while the band plays. August 28, the Brad Thompson Band does Rat Pack and Motown. They added a sax for it.
