# DAVID WEINKAUF

*Founder & CEO, Next Level Brands. Co-Inventor on US Application 18/698,010.*

I'll be honest -- I find these pages a little uncomfortable to write. I'd rather talk about what we built and why it matters than about who I am. But context helps, so here goes.

I spent most of my adult life in commercial real estate. Not selling it -- running it. A developer in Calgary took a chance on me right out of college and handed me the keys to a serious operation. Every contract, every project, every relationship that mattered. Full signing authority. I reported to him and nobody else. We built about three billion dollars worth of real estate over a decade. Then I did it again, for three more principals after that.

That life has a cost. You're always on. The entertaining is part of the job -- not in a superficial way, in a genuine way, because the people you need to bring onside are smart and they know the difference. You drink more than is healthy because that's the texture of that world. I knew it. I kept going anyway until I was done.

When I was done I had a decision to make about what came next. I knew what I was good at. I knew what I cared about. Those two things don't always point in the same direction and I'd spent long enough ignoring the second one.

Mark Scott and I had been circling each other for a while through some work in cannabis research -- this was when everyone thought that industry was going to be something, before the money dried up and the only people left standing were the ones who got in and got out fast. We'd stayed in touch. When he came to me with a formula that he'd tested on himself more times than any reasonable person would, and told me he thought it was something real, I listened.

I tested it. He was right.

## Why This Product Exists

People who drink are not a sympathetic category. The wellness industry does not treat them as people who deserve serious science. The supplement aisle does not treat them as people worth serving well. That assumption is so embedded in the category that most brands don't even notice they've made it.

We noticed. And we thought it was wrong.

The anxiety you feel the morning after is not a coincidence. Alcohol suppresses GABA while you're drinking. When it clears, the brain overcorrects -- GABA drops below baseline, anxiety spikes. That rebound produces the anxiety that follows -- and anxiety is a well-documented driver of craving generally. When I understood that, the path was clear: start at the source. Support the body before the damage accumulates, and everything downstream is better.

This is not a product for people who want to drink more. It is a product for people who drink, full stop -- and who deserve something built with the same seriousness brought to every other health category.

## The Thread

Before this I was involved in cannabis research focused on PTSD treatment in veterans. Before that, Restoration Skin Solutions -- a company that removes tattoos commercially and offers the same service at no cost to survivors of forced trafficking. Before that, Baby Gourmet, which tried to bring genuinely better nutrition into infant food. Early on, Evernote.

None of those are in the same industry. They are expressions of the same intention.

Trafficking survivors. Veterans. Infants. People who drink. These are not natural bedfellows as investment categories. What connects them is that each represents a group being underserved by systems that exist, ostensibly, to serve them -- and each represented an opportunity to do something about it.

H180 is not a departure from that thread. It is where it arrives.

## What We Built

Three ingredients. Dosed for what each one actually does.

DHM at 1,500mg -- the dose the research supports, not the 100-300mg most retail products use. S-acetyl glutathione at 75mg, the gut-stable form that reaches the liver intact. Fulvic acid at 150mg at 90% purity, which meaningfully improved bioavailability in testing and which we still don't entirely understand. (That last admission is in the patent. We were not going to claim more than we could document.)

More than 400 pre-commercial trials. Patent pending -- US Application 18/698,010, with active PCT national phase in the US, Canada, and Europe. 35 structure-function claims submitted under 21 CFR 101.93. Two objected to -- neither appears anywhere. 33 remain without objection. Patent applications use clinical terminology appropriate for USPTO filings; the consumer marketing language for Hangovr180® follows separate FDA regulations for dietary supplements under DSHEA -- which is why what you read on the label sounds different from what you read in the patent.

Mark and I have both served as directors of publicly traded companies on US and Canadian exchanges. The compliance framework here was built before the marketing. That is not how most supplement brands operate. It is how this one does.

## Where This Lives

Impulse retail. Not because it is the easiest channel -- it is not -- but because it is the only channel that actually serves the use case.

Nobody researches this at ten in the morning for a party three weeks away. They reach for it at the checkout because tonight is tonight. The formula helps process the drinks that come after you take it. Sooner is better -- having it at drink two with a few more ahead of you is meaningfully better than not having it. Being on that shelf, in that moment, is the whole game.

We are on Amazon and at hangovr180.com for people who have already found us. But the shelf is where this brand lives or doesn't.

I have a two year old daughter. I want what I'm building to be worth something to the world she's growing up in. This is my best current answer ot that.
